Motion & Rest have been concerns of mine since I began painting. I did not understand, as a younger painter, that those concerns would form the subject and direction of my present work. This exhibit shows some aspects of the observer passing the subject, subject passing the observer, slow, fast, and motionless or at rest.
Sculpture by Susan Clinard
My sculptures are about spirituality, destruction, hatred and love. They explore life's continual cycle of tearing down and rebuilding. They are about the duality between the ugly and the beautiful. I cannot see one without the other. They are one in the same.
